RNs Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with a variety of clients, from pediatric to geriatric,
- Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of clients care.
- Consulting with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Establishing treatment plans and performing diagnostic tests.
- Supervising registered practical nurses (RPN) and personal support workers (PSW).
- Treating medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, car accidents and burns as well as recovering post-operative patients.
- Administering medications and treatments.
- Responsibility for the safe, accurate administration of medication and treatments provided to clients, while maintaining complete and accurate applicable documentation. eg. Updates and evaluation of client care plans (including short and long term goals).
- Participating in all aspects of client's care while continually ensuring the safety of residents..
